Outpatient Services

KidsPeace Community Programs provide services to children, biological families and foster families in the Pennsylvania communities where they live. In 2019, nearly 4,000 clients were served through community programs in Pennsylvania.

KidsPeace experts provide services such as therapy, life and parenting skills training, problem solving, and self-esteem building to children and families. Counselors coordinate with schools, county human services departments and various mental health agencies to offer a holistic approach to therapy. Often KidsPeace will transport children to after-school community programs, summer programs, and assists families with transportation to therapeutic appointments.

Outpatient Mental Health Clinic

Services include individual, family and group therapy; psychiatric evaluations and consultations; and medication monitoring for clients with DSM-IV diagnoses and medical necessity who are having difficulty functioning at home, school or in the community.

Walk-In Assessments

KidsPeace and Orchard Behavioral Health provide free and unscheduled mental health screening for children and adults at three locations. Walk-in assessments are a great resource when you believe an individual may need immediate mental health care or you are uncertain what level of care is appropriate. The goal is to determine an appropriate level of care and help individuals and families navigate the mental health system, while avoiding unnecessary time spent in the Emergency Room.

Parent-Child Interaction Therapy

Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is an evidence-based treatment for young children (ages 2.5-7years old) with emotional and/or behavioral disorders that places emphasis on improving the quality of the parent-child relationship and changing parent-child interaction patterns. PCIT teaches caregivers to manage their child’s difficult behaviors, while increasing their positive behaviors. PCIT works with the child and caregiver together to improve behavior and reduce parenting stress. It utilizes a live coaching model in order to allow therapist and caregiver to work together to manage child’s problematic behaviors
