Hoping to again spark (hopefully pleasant) memories of gym classes past, KidsPeace will host its Second Annual Dodgeball Tournament at the organization’s Orchard Hills Campus in Orefield on Thursday, June 26, 2025!
Co-ed teams from the community will compete in refereed matches, with Tuskes Homes aiming to defend its title as KidsPeace Dodgeball Champions after claiming the 2024 crown with dominant performances throughout the multiple-game tournament.
“Last year’s Dodgeball Tournament was a tremendous success — not only in raising critical funds for KidsPeace but also in bringing our community together through fun, teamwork, and shared purpose,” said Shawn Hughes, executive vice president of BSI Corporate Benefits and chair of the KidsPeace Lehigh Valley Board of Associates.
“I am proud to support this event once again, because it’s a fantastic opportunity for employers to connect, collaborate, and relive those childhood memories while making a real difference in the lives of children and families in need. We’re excited to see everyone back for this year’s tournament and continue the momentum of giving back with teamwork — and a little friendly competition,” he added.
Hughes noted that the 2024 tournament raised nearly $16,000, and organizers are looking to exceed that amount in 2025. This year’s team registration fees will go towards KidsPeace’s Healthy Communities Fund, which helps local families access mental and behavioral health services at its Bethlehem and Allentown (Green Street) clinics. Funds will also support upgrades to client living spaces in the residential treatment program at Orchard Hills and the purchase of a new refrigerator for KidsPeace Children’s Hospital.
There’s still time to register and enter a team for the 2025 tournament! Each team must have eight members (five in play, three alternates, with at least two female players playing in the games at all times). For those who would prefer not to relive their playground days, donations toward the upgrade projects are also welcome.
