Frontier supports KidsPeace with scholarships for education
SCHNECKSVILLE, Pa. – Oct. 11, 2013 – Frontier Communications is donating $2,000 in scholarship support to school-aged children who are receiving educational services through KidsPeace. The scholarship funds are part of Frontier’s participation in the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (PA EITC) and will provide an opportunity for eligible children at KidsPeace to receive tuition assistance.
The PA EITC offers tax credits to eligible businesses contributing to a state-approved scholarship organization, an educational improvement organization and/or a pre-kindergarten scholarship organization. The businesses may direct their donations to specific organizations from a list of eligible participants listed on the PA EITC website.
In 2013, Frontier is donating $225,000 overall through the PA EITC program to support scholarships for private education and educational improvement initiatives approved by the state. This is the second year Frontier has donated to KidsPeace.
“At Frontier, we are proud to give back to the communities in which we live and work,” said Elena Kilpatrick, Area General Manager, Frontier Communications. “We are especially pleased to support PA EITC, which gives deserving children a chance to experience private education and helps to foster innovative educational programs. We consider our scholarship donation to KidsPeace through the EITC program a tremendous investment in our youth in Pennsylvania.”
“We are so thankful for our partnership with Frontier Communications and their generous support of our students,” said Patrick Slattery, KidsPeace Director of Development.
