KidsPeace has named three new members to its National Board of Directors – Raymond Carey of Raleigh, NC, Lesley Fallon of Bethlehem, PA and Naomi Yergey of Center Valley, PA.

KidsPeace President and CEO Michael W. Slack welcomed the new board members, noting they are joining the Board at a critical and exciting time.

“The COVID-19 pandemic is bringing needed attention to the role that mental health services play in a compassionate society, in large part because COVID is sparking a rise in the need for such services,” he said.  “To meet this increasing demand, KidsPeace is devoting additional resources to strengthen our programs and add new offerings across our Continuum of Care, and we’re looking forward to working with our new and current board members on maximizing the impact our efforts have in the communities we serve,” he added.

Background on New Board Members:

  • Naomi Yergey is a recognized leader in human resources management.  She previously provided HR consulting services to tech giant TE Connectivity, and led her own consulting practice in the greater Philadelphia area.  Previous to that, she held positions of increasing responsibility during more than twenty years in the HR field at Merck.   Ms. Yergey holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Muhlenberg College and a master’s degree in counseling and personnel services from the University of Maryland, and earned a Six-Sigma Executive Belt designation during her time at Merck.  She lives in Center Valley, PA

“When a current board member asked me to consider joining, it was an immediate “Yes!”  To be able to make a positive impact in a child’s life is a wonderful gift. I’m excited to get started and hopefully I’ll be able to leverage my experience to contribute to fulfilling the mission of KidsPeace.”

  • Lesley Fallon is a community leader and management advisor who has provided strategic and leadership consulting to a number of enterprises – including PBS39 and Valley Youth House.  She also views herself as a “serial entrepreneur,” having launched efforts in the video production, multimedia art marketing and wine preservation equipment fields. Previously, Ms. Fallon served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Holiday Hair, a chain of hair salons located in the mid-Atlantic region.  She lives in Bethlehem, PA.

My business and volunteer experience has given me valuable perspective on how important organizations like KidsPeace are, not just for the kids it serves, but for our whole community.  I’m looking forward to bringing that perspective to the Board to help KidsPeace meet the challenges it faces, so that it continues to serve the people and communities who need its programs.”

  • Raymond Carey is a business leader and venture capital professional.  Currently he serves as Chief Executive Officer of ArchiveSocial, a provider of social media archiving technology to public sector entities ranging from the White House and U.S. Department of Justice to small towns and communities throughout America.  Mr. Carey previously held top leadership roles at other tech companies, and served as a venture capital partner supporting entrepreneurial efforts in the technology services arena.  He holds bachelor’s and master degrees from Stanford University, and represented the United States in swimming events at the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games in Atlanta.  Mr. Carey lives in Raleigh, NC.

I’m excited to join the KidsPeace Board because I can’t imagine a more timely, important, or impactful cause than investing in the mental wellness of our children.”

The Board appointments are for three-year terms.
