Win a trip to Georgetown Cupcake, the bakery behind the hit TLC show “DC Cupcakes” at KidsPeace’s annual wine tasting fundraiser
LAUREL, Md. – The bakers behind TLC’s hit show “DC Cupcakes” are offering a chance for 10 lucky sweet lovers to visit Georgetown Cupcake and “The Lab” for a private decorating party.
This prize is one of the auction items that will be featured at KidsPeace’s seventh annual wine tasting from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Corridor Fine Wine, 3321 Corridor Marketplace, Laurel.
Thirty percent of all winery direct sales will be donated to national children’s charity KidsPeace to benefit the KEYS program, which provides life-skills training for Maryland and Washington DC foster youth, who face uncertain times as they prepare for their transition from care to independent living.
The winner of the “DC Cupcakes” package will take home a gift bag stocked with Georgetown Cupcake and “DC Cupcakes” merchandise, but will also get to bring up to nine friends to visit the bakery that’s behind the popular show and decorate their own dozen cupcakes.
Georgetown Cupcake was started by sisters Sophie and Katherine in 2008. They began with a passion for baking and their grandmother’s recipes and now sell more than 5,000 cupcakes a day. “DC Cupcakes” follows their business journey, which is rife with both family and baking drama.
