We have been reaching teens who are considered unreachable for many years. In fact, KidsPeace has been caring for kids in crisis since 1882. We are nationally recognized and currently have more than 50 offices in 11 states and the District of Columbia. Adolescents attend the KidsPeace Academy at Orchard Hills from as far away as California and as close as the next township. Our treatment works. We have a low student to teacher ratio that gives the adolescents the opportunity to receive extraordinary attention from their instructors and learn using the style that best suits their aptitudes. We have Special Education as well as regular teachers on staff. As our students improve academically, they also undergo a healing process that stresses education as a vital component of their treatment. They follow curricula developed in conjunction with their home schools and catch up with their peers academically. They learn skills that will enable them to be successful once they return to their home schools, both academically and socially.
