The KidsPeace Academy at Orchard Hills offers adolescents from 10 to 18
years of age a wide variety of treatment options that allow them to
progress through a clearly defined Continuum of Care rooted in a
Positive Youth Environment that ensures consistency of care and
familiarity among programs. Youth who attend the KidsPeace Academy at
Orchard Hills are each assigned a personal clinician who will be the
primary contact for the student and the family throughout the child’s
stay. This primary clinician will be involved in every aspect of the
adolescent’s treatment and educational planning, measurement of
progress toward goals, family involvement and relationships and
coordination of emotional, behavioral, social and educational
advancement.
Each child becomes the focus of an individualized
treatment team that meets regularly to address the youth’s unique
issues, plan the treatment options that will best meet his/her distinct
needs and measure progress toward achievement of treatment goals.
Treatment teams are comprised of psychiatrists, psychologists, social
workers, nurses, teachers, counselors, the adolescent, the parents and
youth care workers. Communication is open, and frequent meetings ensure
that all team members are up to date on the student’s progress.
The levels of care available to KidsPeace Academy students include: • Psychiatric Hospital services • Diagnostic program • Residential treatment • Co-Occurring substance abuse and mental health services • Full array of educational services.
