Foster Care and Community Programs of Maryland and D.C.

The 9th annual charity event will be held May 8 at the Laurel, Md., store

LAUREL, Md. – A free wine tasting event at Total Wine & More will give community members the chance to sample a variety of wines and learn more about the services offered through KidsPeace Foster Care and Community Programs.

This event, in its ninth year, raises money for children in foster care in Maryland and D.C. The tasting and a silent auction take place from 6 to 9 p.m. at the store at 3321 Corridor Marketplace. KidsPeace Board of Associates member Angela Showalter, wife of Baltimore Orioles Manager Buck Showalter, will attend the event, with the Oriole Bird as her date.

This year’s guests will have the opportunity to bid on a unique trip to join the Orioles as they head to Wrigley Field. The trip, Aug. 21-24, includes airfare for two people, hotel accommodations and two tickets to games on Aug. 22 and 23. Other auction prizes this year include the Showalters' personal seats at an Orioles game, restaurant and hotel gift certificates, sports memorabilia and a wine tasting.
