Community BikeWorks at KidsPeace graduation is June 6

North Whitehall Township – A second round of participants is poised to graduate from the Community BikeWorks at KidsPeace program.

The children and teenagers have been hard at work since April, spending 20 hours of classroom time learning the nuances of bicycle safety and repair. As a reward, they each get a bike and helmet to take home with them when they leave KidsPeace’s residential program. Come celebrate their achievement and learn more about the program at a June 6 ceremony on our Orchard Hills campus.

Community BikeWorks was started in Allentown by Stefan Goslawski as an effort to provide children an alternative to hanging on the streets. Rob Scott, supervisor of recreational facilities for KidsPeace, formed a partnership where staff took a course and brought their knowledge back to the children on campus.

If you’re unable to attend graduation, but are still interested in learning more about the program, call to arrange a time to visit a class and speak with some of the participants.
