ITHACA RESTAURANT SUPPORTS
KIDSPEACE FOSTER CARE AND COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
ITHACA, NY, AUGUST 29, 2011 – A month-long fundraiser conducted by the Buffalo Wild Wings® Restaurant, 410 Elmira Rd., Ithaca, is benefiting the KidsPeace Foster Care and Community Programs offices of the Ithaca area.
Every Wednesday in August, KidsPeace has staffed a table at the eatery and distributed information about its foster care services, helping to educate the community about the mission of the organization and speaking with parents about the program.
KidsPeace Inc. is a national children’s charity dedicated to serving the behavioral and mental health needs of children, families and communities. The 129-year-old nonprofit also provides foster care and community services in the states of Pennsylvania, Indiana, Maryland, Maine, Nevada, North Carolina, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
As part of the promotion, each time a customer turns in a KidsPeace “ticket” when they pay their bill, Buffalo Wild Wings donates a percentage of the sale to KidsPeace. To raise additional revenue, the restaurant has also donated items such as their wing sauce for raffle baskets.
KidsPeace Ithaca offices opened in April of this year and serves Tompkins and nearby counties. The offices are located at 179 Graham Road, Suite C., Ithaca. The KidsPeace therapeutic foster care model recruits families who are then trained and licensed to provide a home to troubled children who often have histories of trauma and/or suffer from mental health challenges such as depression and anxiety.
