KidsPeace Foster Care in
Raleigh Plans “Silly Summer Field Day”
Raleigh, NC – Although National Kids Day was August 1, families
and organizations may celebrate the holiday any day and in any way that seems
fitting and allows families to recognize how wonderful their children are.
The KidsPeace Foster Care and Community Programs
office in Raleigh, NC, is sponsoring its second annual “Silly Summer Field Day”
on Saturday, August 14 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00p.m. at Spring Forest Park.
“The day is organized to encourage adults to spend more quality time with their
children,” explains KidsPeace Family Resource Specialist Geraldine Craig.
Activities will include games, races, relays,
crafts and music. Families are asked to form four-person teams of at least one
adult and two children to participate in the festivities.
The day will be free to all participants, but
attendees are asked to donate new school supplies that will be given to less
fortunate children in the community. Those making a donation will receive a tee
shirt and an e-photo of their team.
To register a team, email adults’ and children’s
names and tee shirt sizes to sillysummerfieldday@yahoo.com
or call (919) 872-6447.
