KidsPeace 25th Anniversary Golf Classic Nets Proceeds for the Children’s Fund
Winners of ‘Drive-it-Home’
Raffle Announced
Schnecksville, PA – The silver anniversary of the KidsPeace Golf
Classic June 21st at Lehigh Country Club netted more than $54,000 in
revenues for the Lehigh Valley nonprofit. A total of
144 golfers participated in the event and hundreds of others celebrated the 25th
year through participation in the special “Drive-it-Home Raffle.” The top prize awarded was a 2011 Silver
MINI Cooper.
For more than 128 years, KidsPeace has been the nation’s
leading charitable organization, dedicated to children. KidsPeace provides a full continuum of
mental and behavioral health programs for children and their families.
With Highmark Blue Shield as its premier sponsor,
the proceeds raised will benefit the KidsPeace Children’s Fund. Event title sponsors were PrintConcepts
and Tallman, Hudders & Sorrentino.
“We’re very pleased to announce the results of
the most successful golf tournament in our history,” said Will Isemann,
KidsPeace President/CEO. “The
golfers enjoyed their rounds, the raffle created a great deal of excitement and
we all had fun raising money to help our children.”
The winning foursome in the tournament, with a
score 61, was made up of Joe Lennert, Caruso Benefits, Rich Kovacs, Kovacs
Benefits Group, Doug Leonzi, National Penn Investments Services and Kevin
Burgess, KidsPeace.
Following dinner, Luis V., an 18-year-old
young man who has been in the KidsPeace foster care program for 10 years,
offered remarks about his experiences.
Luis was also selected to draw the winning
tickets from a total of 408 sold in the raffle. The winners were:
Mike Marzo of Ambler, the MINI Cooper and the diamond necklace; Ed
Jocham of Annville, trip to Rome, Italy, Ernie Stiegler of Orefield, a flat
screen television, and Betty Kerber of Allentown, a spa getaway package from
Bear Creek.
Sheri Weber, KidsPeace Manager of Special Events,
managed the 2010 KidsPeace 25th Anniversary Golf Classic and committee members
were: Nick Lukow and Ed Easterly,
co-chairs, and Joe Balsamo, Kevin Burgess, Tim Burke, Mark Fennell, Mike
Fisher, Greg Lang, Tim Richards, Craig Schafer, Kay Kurtz Vogel and Sharon
McCarthy.
