KIDSPEACE PRESENTS 25TH ANNUAL GOLF CLASSIC
PROCEEDS TO BENEFIT CHILDREN’S FUND
“Drive-It-Home” features a MINI Cooper Giveaway
OREFIELD, May 7, 2010 – One hundred, and forty-four golfers will “take to the links” on June 21 for the 25th Anniversary of the KidsPeace Golf Classic at Lehigh Country Club.
For more than 128 years, KidsPeace has been the nation’s leading charitable organization, dedicated to children. KidsPeace provides a full continuum of mental and behavioral health programs for children and their families. With Highmark Blue Shield as its premier sponsor, the tournament will benefit the KidsPeace Children’s Fund. Event title sponsors are PrintConcepts, Tallman, Hudders & Sorrentino and UBS.
Twenty-five years ago, a group of 40 Wiley House (now KidsPeace) employees competed in the inaugural fundraiser at Green Pond Country Club. A number of special events are planned for this year’s event to recognize the early years of the event and to thank members of the community who have competed and helped raise critical funds for KidsPeace programs and services.
“This year’s KidsPeace Golf Classic promises to be a fun and memorable event,” said Nicholas Lukow, of Independence Planning Group and event chair. “We are looking forward to a great day of golf and sharing memories with people who have supported KidsPeace down through the years.”
A special “Drive-It-Home” Raffle is being conducted as part of the Classic. A total of 500 tickets are being sold at $100 each, with the grand prize a 2011 Silver MINI Cooper. MINI of Allentown, A Daniels BMW Company, is raffle sponsor. Other prizes on the ticket include a trip to Rome, Italy, valued at $5,000, courtesy of 24-7 Fitness Clubs; a diamond necklace, valued at $2,500, courtesy of Charles S. Boyer Jewelers and Lehigh Valley Jewelry Exchange; a flat screen television, and a spa getaway package from Bear Creek.
The winning tickets will be drawn during the evening banquet following the tournament. Winners do not need to be present.
Non-golfers are welcome to attend the event banquet. For information on the tournament, sponsorship opportunities, or to purchase a raffle ticket, call Sheri Weber at 610-799-8071.
