Internships
KidsPeace offers a variety of internship programs in direct care at the hospital and in residential programs, as well as in support services such as MIS, Creative Services and Human Resources.
The internship program offered by the PA Residential Treatment Program is approved by the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC) and is listed in their directory. Experience gained here is invaluable to those pursuing careers working with children in need. Requirements for internship include:
- Sponsorship through a college or university
- Completion of internship registration requirements
- Completion of background checks
- Completion of specified KidsPeace training.

Creative Services Graphic Design Internship
An internship at KidsPeace in the Creative Services department, a division of the Marketing department, focuses on the development of professional graphic skills and serves as an introduction to the office environment. KidsPeace is a national, not-for-profit organization providing programs and services for children in a variety of crisis situations. This internship requires some interaction with children in placement at KidsPeace, but the majority of the work will be in an office setting. This is an unpaid internship.
Semester: Fall, Spring, or Summer
An applicant for this internship will have the following qualifications:
Computer skills (MAC platform) in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator. Familiarity with Dreamweaver, Flash, Powerpoint and Word helpful. Strong organizational skills. Knowledge of printing and pre-press helpful, but not necessary.
Creative Services Writing Internship (Not available at this time)

Please note: This internship is not a writing course; it is an internship focused on professional skill development with a writing concentration. In addition to performance in the areas listed above, the intern will be expected to demonstrate excellent communication and team skills; professionalism in attitude, conduct, speech, and appearance; and an ability to see projects through to completion.
