The South Portland, Maine Foster Care office will do something each week in May to show their appreciation for their many loyal foster parents:
Week 1 (May 4th through 8th), the staff will distribute handmade cards to all foster parents, each with a personal note of appreciation.
Week 2 (May 11th through 15th), the children will make gifts for their foster parents and present them as their tokens of thanks. They will decorate bookmarks and express their appreciation on the backs of these thoughtful gifts.
Week 3 (May 18th through 22nd), the foster care office team will prepare baked goods and present them as gifts of thanks to all foster parents.
Week 4 (Tuesday May 26th), from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., the office will host an Appreciation Dinner with food, fun, games to play and prizes for the winners (games such as Taboo, Apples to Apples, Jeopardy, Pinata, etc.). There will be game inspired food, snacks, tacos, salads and brownie Sundays, and there will also be a gift cared Yankee swap.
