Discovery Communications helps KidsPeace teenagers in foster care “Say Yes to the Prom” at second annual event
Silver Spring, Md. – A group of KidsPeace foster teens will find their dream prom dresses and enjoy a day of pampering next week thanks to the generosity of Discovery Communications.
KidsPeace is honored to participate in the annual “Say Yes to the Prom” event at Discovery Communications’ headquarters. Monte Durham of TLC’s “Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta” will host the March 26 event for the second year.
Five KidsPeace girls are among a group of 40 local teenagers chosen to partake in the day of fashion and beauty. The event gives the girls a chance to choose prom attire from more than 700 generous donations. They will also select accessories, get any necessary dress alterations and have their hair and makeup done. The day concludes with a runway walk to show off their style.
On March 12, the girls had a chance to go to Discovery and meet with their mentors, Discovery employees who will serve as their personal shoppers and style consultants for the big day.
