WYOMISSING – Lace up your running shoes and grab some jingle bells. It’s almost time for Jingle in July, a 5K race hosted by KidsPeace’s Reading Foster Care and Community Programs office.
The race is scheduled for July 14 at Gring’s Mill Park, 2083 Tulpehocken Road, Wyomissing (near the Penn State Berks campus). Registration starts at 7 a.m. and the race kicks off at 8:30 a.m., followed by a one-mile walk, starting at 8:45 a.m. Find all the details under “Special Events.
The deadline to mail registration is Saturday, but online registration at www.pretzelcitysports.com is open until midnight on July 11. The registration fee is $20 before Saturday and $25 after.
The race is Christmas themed and will incorporate a toy drive to collect holiday gifts for children in our program. Prizes will be awarded for top race times, as well as best holiday costume. The course is wheel measured, shaded and a mostly flat cinder path.
